Now, granted, “the greatest example in history” goes a bit too far in my view. But I love the way the shooter of the Q Nightclub looks in his post-arrest photographs. It’s just so deliciously pathetic, isn’t it? Really takes any sort of glory out of the whole thing, when no doubt he considered himself brave for ‘taking a stand’.
Anderson Lee Aldrich considered gay people inferior, so he took an automatic rifle to a gay night club and began shooting up the place. Now Aldrich managed to hit dozens of people, five of whom would later die. But what he had not expected was that a club patron would jump him, disarm him and proceed to beat him into a bloody pulp, aided by other club goers.
So the very people he considered weak lowlifes and degenerates… beat his ass up completely. Despite the fact that he was heavily armed. And yeah, I like that. Hell, a drag queen of all people even reportedly “stomped on the shooters head” with his high heels, it’s honestly perfect poetic justice.
Imagine how powerful Aldritch must have felt as he entered the night club, gun’s blazing. Like the main character in his own movie, the hero in a video game, going down in a blaze of his own supposed glory; he had it all figured out, no doubt. How he would get “those degenerates” and make them pay for whatever crimes they supposedly were guilty of… for the whole thing to be flipped on its head in a matter of seconds is nothing short of amazing.
Anderson Lee Aldrich will be in jail for his entire life. And his legacy will be that mugshot of him, a sad little puddle of a man… beaten within an inch of his life by those he saw as “easy targets”. Just have a look at the heavily bruised morbidly obese mouthbreather and tell me it isn’t kind of glorious that this picture will be all that he will be remembered for.
