My mom (who is really into crime stories) told me about this case. I’m happy (?) to share it.
Notice the girls in this photo?
Their names are Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. From this “selfie”, they look like they were always normal teenage BFFs who love hanging out together. But in reality, they later did something truly inhuman.
On July 6th, 2012, these two girls brutally stabbed their friend, Skylar Neese (aged 16) while simply hanging out together.
That night, Skylar snuck out of her house to meet her so-called “friends” at a secluded spot in the forest near the Pennsylvania state border where they usually went to smoke marijuana. The killing happened when Neese went to the car to get a lighter. After the murder, Shelia and Rachel buried her body in the hopes that little to no evidence would be found.
It is reported that before the incident, Skylar’s relationship with Shelia and Rachel had deteriorated considerably. Initially, she was unsure about whether she would accept the invitation from her “friends” to go hang out with them at their hangout spot. Eventually, and unfortunately for her, she went with them, not knowing what would happen next.
After the killing, Shelia put on a fake frown and pretended to be shocked and crest-fallen upon hearing of her friend’s death – tweeting stuff such as “rest easy Skylar, you’ll ALWAYS be my bestfriend” and “worst day of my whole life” complete with photo montages of her with Rachel and Skylar.
Sheila had repeatedly told Skylar’s mother, Mary, that she, Skylar, and Rachel had snuck out the night before that and taken a ride, gotten high, and then eventually dropped her back off at her house. Meanwhile, authorities tried to get a DNA match from Skylar’s remains and found success. They were able to match blood found on her car.
Another chilling piece of evidence was this strange tweet which means they counted to three before stabbing her.
And what’s even worse is that after Shelia and Rachel were arrested, they were asked as to why they killed her, their response was unbelievably nonsensical: “We didn’t like her”.
That was all they said.
To conclude: These are the type of people that sometimes make me ashamed to be human. People just like Shelia and Rachel.
Those who pretend to be your friends.
Those who pretend to truly love and care for you.
Those who pretend they value other lives besides their own.
But then they betray you and hurt you.
RIP Skylar
. You didn’t deserve such a horrible death.
