Today, on his birthday, we remember and celebrate the life of Hunter Barr — a happy, energetic, strong, and funny little boy from Falmouth, Maine.
Hunter had a way of bringing joy wherever he went. He filled every season with laughter. In the winter, he loved cheering for the Boston Bruins and playing the drums with enthusiasm. Summer meant even more fun outdoors — golfing, helping water his grandpa’s garden, and playing outside with his little brother and best friend, Griffin. And no matter the time of year, he was always ready for a game of mini-hockey, bringing endless energy and smiles to everyone around him.
When Hunter became ill, that same spirit stayed with him. He faced every challenge with incredible bravery and strength far beyond his years. Even in difficult times, he continued to inspire his family with his courage and determination.
Hunter passed away in April 2020, but his memory remains alive in the hearts of all who loved him. His mom and dad, his brother Griffin, and his many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends carry his bright spirit with them every day.
Today, on his birthday, we honor Hunter’s life and the legacy he left behind. He taught those around him the true meaning of joy, curiosity, and courage. His family continues to fight for a world without DIPG, and they are deeply grateful for donations made in his memory—contributions that support research, fuel hope, and help other families who face the same battle.
Hunter’s life, though far too short, continues to shine as a source of love, strength, and inspiration.
