To the person who left their dog on the side of the road near Highway 33—here is what I want to say.
You drove off the 401 ramp, paused for a moment at the stop sign on Wooler Road, and then abandoned a beautiful dog. In doing so, you not only put his life in danger, but you also risked the safety of every driver on that highway—including my daughter.
Despite what you did, many kind people stopped to help this terrified dog. But it was my daughter who finally coaxed him out from under a car where he had been trembling in fear. He was shaken, confused, and scared—naturally so.
What matters now is that this dog has found someone who truly cares. He has bonded with my daughter, a gentle and compassionate person who showed him love at the very moment he needed it most.
This post isn’t meant to find or shame the person who abandoned him. You do not deserve to care for this dog or any animal. Instead, this is a reminder that even after cruelty and neglect, an animal’s spirit can still remain strong.
This dog now knows what love feels like. He knows there are better people in this world.
