My mum passed away in January this year. She became ill six weeks before, and because of her age (89), her body slowly grew weaker. They said it was due to the frailty of age, but that doesn’t describe the pain and sleepless nights we went through. Her strength faded, both physically and mentally, but she stayed brave. One day she told me, without a tear, “I’m not afraid of dying. You’re strong, and you know there’s no recovery. I’m looking forward to new adventures.”
I said, “I hope I can be strong, just like you.”
I’m trying, but I miss you every single day. The family isn’t the same without you, but I find comfort in feeling that you’re still near, wherever your adventures have taken you.
