Ötzi was a homo sapiens, just like us. If he were sitting across from you on the subway, you wouldn’t find him unusual. He was about 5’4” (162.5 cm) tall and weighed about 110 lbs (50 kg). He had brown eyes and brown hair. He was about 45 years old when he died, so from living in an age without sunblock and from living in an area with sharp cold winds, his weathered face probably made him look older, a little like Tommy Lee Jones.
Genetically, he would fit in fine with modern people. He did have a higher amount of Neanderthal genes than is the norm for modern Europeans, but not so much that his appearance would betray and not so much that he wouldn’t fit within that range found today.
