Have you ever ordered a cake that made you say “You have got to be kidding me!” when you went to pick it up?

IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN I EXPECTED!

I didn’t have any time to put together a little party for one of the E.T.s that worked on the machine I am assigned to. (It’s a couple of hundred feet long and sorts flats and magazines into walk sequence.)

I found out he was retiring only a few days before and had to get the order in for the cake immediately!

I wanted to do a take on an old line another guy we both knew said all the time about a facility we were at being a “prison camp.”

We often joked about it, and I wanted a cake that showed him getting out of the prison camp.

I told all this to the lady in the bakery at my local WalMart. (I had a very limited budget!) When I picked up the cake everyone was talking about it at the store bakery.

From the side you can see that the man is digging his way out. It was a tremendous hit and my friend really got a kick out of seeing his escape portrayed so well in icing and cake. It is much more 3D than it looks here and there are a few details that are obscured.
