My heart is so heavy today. I haven’t been able to sleep since yesterday. I’m praying that our medical team is able to see something in the CT scan that the technician might have missed.
Before any imaging was done yesterday, we met with the craniofacial team. I was really hoping that the bump we found was just hardware, but they were almost certain it wasn’t. They said it felt too soft to be bone or hardware, yet too firm to be a fluid pocket. They couldn’t give us any answers without seeing the images, but they mentioned it might possibly be a cyst. If it is a cyst, they may need to remove it. They told me not to panic and to wait for the imaging results.
Because the appointment was scheduled last-minute, the hospital couldn’t do the CT right away, so we had to wait a few hours. I decided not to sit at the hospital while nothing was happening. We got the imaging done and then drove back home. Now I’m anxiously waiting for the team to call once they’ve reviewed everything today.
I received the report by email last night and read it. At first glance, it doesn’t sound good, but I’m trying so hard to stay calm until we have an official explanation. The report confirmed that there is a soft tissue mass growing on the frontal bones, but its exact nature is still uncertain. It also showed thinning of the frontal bones in that same area, and I don’t know why that would happen unless it’s pressure from the mass—or something else.
I keep reminding myself not to panic until we hear from the team. I need to hear their interpretation before jumping to conclusions.
Please keep the surgeons in your thoughts and prayers—that they find clear answers, that they see everything they need to see, and that whatever is growing is not harmful to Raedyn. Please pray that he feels comfort during this time. We are so thankful for the love and prayers being sent for our little boy.
