While he never publicly spoke about his cancer outright, it seems he did hint at it sometimes, such as in an interview with Matt Jacobs.
Matt Jacobs asked, “You came off of one Black Panther project, did Marshall and then made another Black Panther movie. Did you bulk up, slim down and then bulk up again?” Chadwick responded, “Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.”
“You’ve been through the wringer,” Jacobs responded.
“Oh, you don’t even know,” Chadwick said. “You have no idea. One day I’ll live to tell the story.”
At this point, Chadwick probably imagined that he would survive his cancer and later tell the public about the private journey he went through. It’s horribly sad that he didn’t survive.
Chadwick was a true superhero off-screen as well as on. His legacy will live on forever.
Rest In Peace, Chadwick Boseman.
