How do models eat so little yet don’t lose their period and stay healthy?

Many times they lose their periods and are anything but healthy. They’re human hangers. They undereat and over exercise.

Just ask Bridget Malcolm (26), a Victoria’s Secret Model, that basically starved herself between the ages of 17–25 in order to fit in with the near impossible industry standard of being ultra slim. Once she got to a very tiny size, because of her body dysmorphia, she still couldn’t accept herself.

Malcolm mentioned that when her hips got below 34.5 inches, that she lost her period. Between 17–25, she lost her period two times per year.

So it’s no picnic. Most models starve themselves for a few years in the hopes of making it big. Most don’t reach the top. For every Cindy Crawford or Kathy Ireland, there are millions of other girls/women you never even hear about.
