Earl has nothing on Princess Libby. Tomorrow, Libby will go in for her regular 4-month scan, and we are sending her all our love, hope, and best wishes for clear results.
Our 10-year-old medulloblastoma warrior has been fighting brain cancer since she was 5. A smart and funny girl, she named her tumor Earl — because, as she said, he had to go.
Libby has never let Earl win. She is now cancer-free and doing wonderfully, having beaten Earl twice. She is a true fighter — a swimmer who worked hard to return to her family (and her twin sister, Hannah). She also overcame the challenges of posterior fossa syndrome to get back to school, her team, and her everyday life. She is strong, brave, and unstoppable.
Libby and her family are now powerful voices for change, advocating for better funding, improved treatments, and better outcomes for kids like her. While the night before a scan is always filled with nerves and worry, we hope this brave, bright young girl and her family can rest peacefully tonight, knowing they are surrounded by love and support.
You’ve got this, Libby.
