To the person who left their dog on the side of the road near Highway 33—this is what I want to say.
You pulled off the 401 ramp, stopped briefly at the stop sign on Wooler Road, and left a beautiful dog behind. In doing so, you not only put his life in danger, but you also endangered every driver on that busy highway—including my daughter.
Even after your decision, many kind people stopped to try to help this terrified dog. But it was my daughter who finally managed to coax him out from under a car where he was hiding, shaking and scared—as anyone would be after being abandoned like that.
What matters now is that this dog found someone who truly cares. He has already grown attached to my daughter, a gentle and compassionate person who showed him love exactly when he needed it most.
This message is not meant to find you or shame you. You do not deserve to care for this dog—or any animal. Instead, this is a reminder that even after cruelty, fear, and neglect, the spirit of an animal can remain incredibly strong.
This dog now knows he is loved. He knows there are better people in the world. And he will never have to experience that kind of abandonment again.
