This man, Dr. James Sebesta, was at the concert in Las Vegas during the tragic shooting. He is not only a skilled surgeon but, more importantly, a truly good person.
When the gunfire began, Dr. Sebesta turned to his wife and told her to get to safety with their friends. He promised he would meet them later at the hotel. But instead of running away, his first thought was to help others.
Amid the chaos, fear, and confusion, he moved through the crowd—where 58 people lost their lives and 527 others were injured—doing everything he could to save lives. He used his medical knowledge to stop bleeding, carried wounded people to safety, and even helped move the bodies of those who didn’t survive.
He could have chosen to flee and protect himself, but he didn’t. He stayed to help, one person at a time, because that’s who he is—a healer, a protector, and a hero.
In one of the darkest moments, Dr. James Sebesta showed what true courage and compassion look like. ❤️
