A week ago, my mom was out of town, so my dad and I decided to go to a restaurant since neither of us are good at cooking.
I ordered a Masala dosa, and after a 20-minute video call with my mom, the food finally arrived. I had eaten just a couple of bites when I found a hair strand in the Sambhar. It was pretty gross.
I told my dad and was about to call the waiter to change the food, but my dad had a clever idea. He suggested that I add a lot of salt to the Sambhar before calling the waiter. This way, I could make sure they would bring a completely new dish, not just remove the hair.
I followed his advice and couldn’t wait for the new Sambhar. My dad was excited too. After a little while, the waiter brought the new Sambhar— and it was way saltier than before! The plan worked! My dad was smiling like a kid and was really proud of his idea.
I was honestly amazed by his clever trick.
Later, we told the waiter the whole story. He got a little defensive, but it didn’t matter. What mattered was the life hack I learned that day.
Here’s a picture of my awesome dad.
